This is from a Rembrandt painting called Old Soldier. This image of Bean seemed fitting for this manipulation. For this photo, Rodney Pike renamed it, “Rembrandts Soldier Bean”, the latter used Rembrandt’s “An Old Man in a Military Costume”. There the face of the old man of the original work has been replaced by that of Mr. Bean, himself seeming somewhat surprised to find himself in the skin of this character wearing a hat decorated with a feather. Something has caught his eyes, an enemy ready to pounce maybe? Or hearing an annoying wasp. Who knows!
